Job summary

Hughes Circuits Inc. in San Marcos, CA is seeking an experienced SMT Operator to setup, operate and maintain SMT equipment for PCB assembly. You will run pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, SPI and reflow ovens while ensuring quality and throughput.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read assembly drawings and BOMs. Onsite work with first or second shift options; training provided and a safety-focused team environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and break down SMT equipment, including pick-and-place machines, solder paste printers, SPI, and reflow ovens to ensure efficient production runs of PCBs.
• Able to interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Conduct visual inspections of PCBAs throughout the SMT assembly process to identify defects and ensure adherence to IPC or customer standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and resolve production issues.
• Document production activities and report discrepancies to engineering.
• Maintain ESD controls and follow safety procedures; uphold 5S in the workspace.
