Job summary

Microboard in Seymour, CT is seeking a Manufacturing Manager for SMT to lead daily operations, drive performance, and champion continuous improvement across production, planning, and quality teams.

The role requires 7–10 years in manufacturing with 3–5 in leadership within high-mix electronics, plus strong SMT expertise and ERP/MES proficiency. On-site role with a focus on accountability and measurable results.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive manufacturing experience with 3–5 years in manufacturing leadership in high-mix electronics manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, or Business preferred (or equivalent combination of education and leadership experience).
• Strong expertise in SMT processes, equipment, production flow, capacity planning, WIP management, and manufacturing constraints.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP and MES systems (Infor LN, Aegis MES, Power BI preferred) along with MS Excel and Office.

Responsibilities

• Own daily SMT production performance, review schedules, WIP, staffing, equipment capacity, material availability, and production constraints to meet targets.
• Maintain floor presence to remove obstacles, resolve issues, and hold staff accountable for daily execution.
• Ensure SMT lines are properly staffed, balanced, and utilized; monitor throughput, downtime, changeovers, labor, and equipment performance.
• Identify schedule risks early to protect customer commitments and ensure smooth handoffs between SMT and downstream operations.
