Job summary

Spectrum Control is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with hands-on SMT manufacturing experience to design, document, and optimize assembly and module processes for high-reliability defense electronics.

You will provide floor support, develop manufacturing routers, train operators, and drive continuous improvement to boost yield and efficiency across SMT, die attach, and wire bonding operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3–5 years in microelectronics manufacturing with SMT focus.
  • Experience with SMT equipment, stencil printing, solder paste, reflow soldering, AOI and SPI.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting and ability to work on the production floor.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings, BOMs and process specifications.
  • Strong communication and training skills for production staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain SMT, die attach, wire bonding, and module assembly processes.
  • Provide hands-on floor support to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement to increase yield, throughput, and first-pass quality.
  • Support NPI by developing repeatable processes for new hardware.
  • Train production staff on processes, equipment, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and program engineering to resolve producibility issues.
