Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, maintain, and optimize SMT fixtures for our consumer electronics production line. You will collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure fixture reliability and maximize yield, while minimizing downtime.

Ideal candidates have 1-3 years of experience in fixture maintenance or tooling design, a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, and strong CAD skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or above.
• 1-3 years of experience in Fixture maintenance, tooling design, or precision equipment repair (electronics/smartphone manufacturing preferred).
• Strong CAD skills and SMT understanding are required.
• Good problem-solving, teamwork, and meticulous work output.

Responsibilities

• Fixture design and optimization using CAD tools to improve production life and reliability.
• Coordinate fixture purchasing with production and asset teams to verify vendors and expand inventory.
• Develop and implement IQC SOPs to validate samples from new vendors per production specs.
• Diagnose and repair fixtures to reduce maintenance costs and prevent downtime.
• Create fixture documentation and train technicians on standard operating procedures.

Purpose of the position

Responsible for design, maintenance,optimization, and quality inspection offixtures for SMT production line (Surface Mount Technology, consumer electronics industry).

Collaboratecloselywithproduction,engineering,andqualityteamstoensurefixture reliability,improveyield,andimprove fixture usage efficiency, reassuring PCB functionality during the SMT production process.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Fixture design: analyzeand design fixtureusingCADsoftwareandproposeimprovements to optimize production and fixture life expectancy.
2. Fixture purachse: Workcross-functionallywith other teams such as production and asset department, to verify vendors, validate new fixtures andenhancefixture inventory for mass production.
3. New fixture IQC (incoming quality control)：Develop and implement SOPs for IQC procedures to validate samples from new vendors in order to meet the specification requirements for production.
4. Fixture diagnose andrepair: ensure fixture performance,reducemaintenancecosts, and prevent production down time.
5. SMT fixture document management and technician training: formulate and compile operation standard, and training technician.

Education and work experience

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or above.

Work Experience: 1-3 years of experience in Fixture maintenance, tooling design, orprecisionequipmentrepair(electronics/smartphonemanufacturingpreferred).
