Woodward, Inc. seeks a Safety Management System (SMS) Manager to lead the development, deployment, and continual improvement of the product SMS for Fuel Systems & Controls.

This role partners with engineering, operations, and business units to embed safety principles across design, production, and service activities. You will promote a just reporting environment, drive governance, and ensure safety controls are implemented, monitored, and validated, while leading continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and team development across functions.
• Experience governing Safety Management Systems and risk management.
• Experience enforcing quality standards and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to use data and metrics to support decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the deployment and sustainment of the SMS in alignment with policy and site manuals.
• Support governance, meeting prep, and action tracking for the Safety Program.
• Oversee QA to achieve safety and quality objectives and drive improvements.
• Identify and address safety hazards across product life cycle.
• Coordinate risk assessments and validation of containment actions.
• Promote safety governance and continuous improvement across sites.
