Job summary

Apogee Engineering is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer-SMPES to support USSTRATCOM initiatives at Offutt AFB, NE. The role focuses on maintaining virtualization (VMware) and enterprise infrastructure across multiple SMPES strings, delivering reliable, compliant systems.

Responsibilities include incident response, design and dashboarding, and collaboration with J5/J6 and AFNWC teams to ensure cyber and STIG compliance and continuous Nuclear Operations Center support.

Qualifications

• 12 or more years of relevant experience, including 5 years of DoD experience.
• Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
• Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI level clearance
• Education: Bachelor's Degree
• Location: Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska
• On-site: Full-time on-site position

Responsibilities

• Engineer and maintain VMware virtualization to ensure 24/7 reliability across SMPES strings and 250+ legacy systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain production dashboards for real-time system health and backup status.
• Lead incident response and outage coordination for SMPES infrastructure.
• Serve as primary technical POC for infrastructure issues with J5, J6 Cyber, and AFNWC teams.
• Author system requirements and support Change Requests throughout the SDLC.
• Perform monthly VDI testing and Office compatibility assessments.
• Participate in J6/AFNWC DevSecOps cross-functional teams and strategic planning.
• Maintain the program Risk Registry and ensure compliance with USSTRATCOM cyber and STIG requirements.
