Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a dedicated Smoking Attendant to support residents in our nursing home. This is a full-time position with weekly pay and rotating shifts.

You will assist residents with smoking, ensure safety, and maintain a clean designated area. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to read, write and speak English, and a patient, tactful approach when interacting with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Ability to make independent decisions and interact tactfully with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with smoking, lighting materials, and transporting them to and from the designated smoking area.
• Maintain a clean designated smoking area for residents.
• Transport residents to and from the smoking area, ensuring their safety.
• Demonstrate proper safety techniques and respect for facility equipment and supplies.
• Contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions.

Job description

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is hiring a full-time Smoking Attendant at our nursing home! Weekly pay at $16 an hour. 32 hours a week broken down as such:

Week 1:

• Sunday 7-3
• Monday 3-11
• Friday 7-3
• Saturday 3-11

Week 2:

• Sunday 3-11
• Monday 7-3
• Friday 3-11
• Saturday 7-3

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with smoking, lighting materials, and transporting them to and from the designated smoking area
• Maintain a clean designated smoking area for residents
• Transport residents to and from the smoking area, ensuring their safety
• Demonstrate correct safety techniques and respect for facility equipment and supplies
• Contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions

Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• On-the-job training provided
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and visitors
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
