Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in the Meat Department with best-in-class service.
• Weigh, package and price items from the smokehouse.
• Maintain back cooler, rotate stock, date items, and clean.
• Assist with value added meat prep (e.g., sausage stuffing, gourmet burgers).
• Train and mentor new associates in the Meat and Seafood Department.
• Maintain sanitation and temperature logs; ensure a safe work environment.
• Assist with all other Smokehouse Department duties as needed.

Job Description

The main responsibility of the Smokehouse Associate is to weigh, package and price items from the smokehouse. The Smokehouse Associate will also assist in miscellaneous duties, including, but not limited to, filling the cases when low, maintaining the back coolers and cleaning.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Serve customers in the Meat Department while modeling Hansen’s IGA Market culture and providing “best in class” customer service, which includes, greeting, engaging, delighting and thanking every guest for their business
• Weighing, packaging and pricing items from the smokehouse
• Assist with maintaining the back cooler including rotating stock, dating and cleaning
• Assist with minimal food preparation, including, but not limited to, value added creation (i.e. sausage stuffing, gourmet burgers, etc.) and meat grinding
• Assist with the training and mentoring of new associates in the Meat and Seafood Department
• Maintain sanitation, grinding and temperature logs as needed
• Assist with the training and mentoring of new associates in the Smokehouse Department
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures
• Assist with all other Smokehouse Department duties as needed
