Job summary

Lithia Ford of Fresno is seeking an Experienced SMOG Technician to perform California Smog Check inspections and emissions testing. You will diagnose emissions concerns, complete repairs as needed, and maintain meticulous inspection records for state compliance.

A clean and safe workspace is required to support top service operations. The role requires a current California Smog Inspector License, with Smog Repair License as a plus, and 3+ years of dealership experience.

Qualifications

• Current California Smog Inspector License is required.
• Smog Repair License is favorable.
• 3+ years of dealership or high‑volume automotive repair experience.
• ASE certifications are favorable.

Responsibilities

• Perform California Smog Check inspections following state regulations.
• Conduct emissions testing and diagnose emissions‑related concerns.
• Complete repairs to bring vehicles into compliance when applicable.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
• Perform vehicle inspections and communicate repair recommendations to service advisors.
• Follow all dealership, manufacturer and BAR standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
