Role : RF Engineer Senior

Job Description:
The Contractor shall provide an RF Engineer with at least five years of experience working at a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). The RF Engineering Consultant will be responsible for working with LMR radio systems, software, and programs. Responsibilities include designing and testing radio code plugs, validating radio and system performance, and evaluating new communication devices. The RF Engineering Consultant will perform technical work in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and wireless communications system engineering, design, and implementation, including program review, licensing compliance, requirements gathering, design review, change management, and system acceptance. Duties also include RoIP system engineering, radio code plug design/programming, and conducting planning to meet communication needs. The consultant will analyze hardware/software performance characteristics within existing systems environment.
Day-to-Day Tasks:
- Support Motorola subscriber radio updates and tracking
- Develop agency codeplugs
- Support and complete agency programming requests
- Manage/encrypt and OTAR upgrades
- Develop radio training materials
- Create technical guidelines for radio use
- Develop In-Building Wireless (IBW) approval criteria and review proposals
- Field surveys and troubleshooting IBW network issues
- Support OUC radio operations
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessments based on industry standards
- Conduct research on new or existing products and technologies
- Use various information sources for research
- Analyze data to prepare reports for professionals
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements: Master’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
Experience (Preferred):
- 3+ years with P25 radio network
- 3+ years knowledge of public safety communications and interoperability
- 10+ years as SME in complex enterprise projects
- 6+ years with a Master’s degree in IT or related field
- 5+ years working in a PSAP
- 3+ years with interoperable radio, Land Mobile Radio, and RF engineering tools
- 2+ years developing fleetmaps and code plugs
- 2+ years programming radios for public safety
- 3+ years managing Motorola User Configuration Manager
- 3+ years troubleshooting wireless systems
- 3+ years experience with public safety infrastructure
