Job summary

Live Oak Bank is seeking an Associate Live Oak Express Lending Officer to support end-to-end lending activities—from application intake to underwriting, risk governance, and platform development. You will contribute to sales growth, client deepening, and portfolio management in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, computer science, or mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of proven banking experience across lending, underwriting, credit, servicing, strategy and/or product covering SBA and conventional loans, lines of credit, cards, and/or payments for business and/or consumer lending businesses.
• Knowledge of business credit underwriting and loan structures; understanding of risk/reward pricing and fee structures.
• Fundamental knowledge of SMB market drivers, competitors, and products.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to tailor communications to a broad spectrum of audiences and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director, Live Oak Express in developing and executing initiatives that drive strategic objectives.
• Assist in sales growth, pipeline management, verticalization and cross-sell efforts; deepen client relationships.
• Assess loan applications for completeness and decide within delegated lending authority per policy and guidelines.
• Surface client feedback themes and drive action plans with stakeholders.
• Contribute to buildout of a cloud-native, API-enabled lending platform with a robust risk framework.
