Job summary

Google's NetInfra group seeks a Smart NIC Senior Software Engineer, Embedded in Raleigh/Durham, NC. You will work on host networking stacks and AI/ML networking solutions at scale, designing systems for Google's data centers and cloud infra.

The role requires strong C/C++ development, embedded OS experience, and distributed systems know-how, with opportunities to advance across projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in C or C++.
• 3 years of experience developing AI/ML networking solutions and host‑networking stacks.
• 3 years of experience with developing large‑scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 year of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Implement and execute testable system solutions; conduct validation of behavior and suitability of prospective hardware units, prototypes, emulations, or simulations for use in the Google infrastructure.
• Advance new approaches to leverage offloads efficiently with Google hardware and software so you can build and test software in C++ for use on Google's ML Library solutions and Smart NICs.
• Develop next generation AI/ML Networking solutions as well as Smart NICs at Google, taking the projects through development into production.
