Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineer to help advance the NetInfra group, which designs networking infrastructure powering Google services and Google Cloud. You will work on host networking and large-scale systems at a scale that touches billions of users.

The role emphasizes C++ development, AI/ML networking, and contributions to next-generation networking solutions, with opportunities to switch teams as projects evolve within Google.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in C or C++.
• 3 years of experience developing AI/ML networking solutions and host-networking stacks.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 year of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Implement and execute testable system solutions; conduct validation of behavior and suitability of prospective hardware units, prototypes, emulations, or simulations for use in the Google infrastructure.
• Advance new approaches to leverage offloads efficiently with Google hardware and software so you can build and test software in C++ for use on Google's ML Library solutions and Smart NICs.
• Develop next generation AI/ML Networking solutions as well as Smart NICs at Google, taking the projects through development into production.

US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
