Job summary

Siemens Mobility in the Kansas City area is seeking a Fire Alarm Systems Project Management Intern for a 10-week program. You will rotate through departments, spend most time on project management, and gain exposure to sales and service activities while supporting HVAC, Fire/Life Safety, Security, and Energy/Sustainability segments.

Applicants must be an undergraduate student, pursuing relevant engineering or built-environment degrees, and able to work full-time for the duration.

Qualifications

• Must be current enrollment as an undergraduate at a 4-year U.S. college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Energy/Sustainability and Built Environment.
• Rising Junior or Senior.
• Ability to work 40-hours per week for the 10-week program (May - July or June - August).
• Relocation: No relocation assistance or housing stipend is provided.
• Must have reliable transportation to get to and from worksite.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish a project delivery plan.
• Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the project team.
• Manage the procurement of supplies and materials and participate in project cost reviews.
• Track labor resources and project progress.
• Pursue project-specific change-order opportunities.
• Complete project-specific close-out documentation.
• Rotate through other departments within the branch office to learn how our branch organization operates.
