Job summary

Prairie Mechanical Corporation is seeking a project dispatcher to manage and coordinate field labor for mechanical/HVAC projects in the Omaha area. The role focuses on delivering projects on time, within scope and budget while aligning schedules across small and large projects.

The ideal candidate has experience in dispatching or project coordination within mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing industries and can communicate effectively with field teams, customers, and project managers.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects to deliver on time, within scope and budget by completing job setup for new projects.
• Partner with project managers to review labor plans, track progress, and adjust plans with stakeholders.
• Coordinate field team schedules for small projects across Omaha and Lincoln to maximize efficiency.
• Assist with change-orders when project scope is adjusted.
• Collaborate with accounts receivable to ensure timely billing and payment on projects.
• Forecast short- and long-term manpower needs.
• Coordinate safety training and badging for the small projects field team.
• Attend project planning meetings to review long-term scheduling.
• Cultivate relationships with the small projects team and manage licenses and access needs.

Job Functions

• Manage projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within scope and within budget by:
• Complete the job setup for all new projects
• Partnering with project managers to review detailed project labor plans, track progress throughout and adjust the plan as needed, communicating with stakeholders (field team, project managers, customers) as needed
• Coordinating and adjusting the small projects field team schedules for maximum efficiency, strategizing to share labor from service team and large project teams (Omaha and Lincoln) to execute job schedules
• Assist with change-orders to customers when project scope is adjusted
• Collaborate with accounts receivable to ensure timely billing and payment on projects
• Forecast short- and long-term manpower needs
• Coordinates ongoing safety/customer training and badging for the small projects field team
• Attends department project planning meetings to review long-term scheduling
• Cultivate strong relationships with the small projects team, understanding their abilities, strengths/weaknesses, skillsets, badging/access needs and licenses for the success of each project

Preferred Certificates/Licenses/Education

• College degree preferred and/or 3-5 years of experience in the Mechanical/HVAC/Plumbing (or related) industries, or prior dispatching experience
• Knowledge of the local unions (464, 16, 3) and trade line agreements preferred, not required
