Job summary

Sheridan is seeking a Manufacturing Operator for the Bindery and Ancillary Machines on the 3rd shift (Monday - Friday, 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM). We’ll train you to run high-speed paper sheeting equipment and help you build a long-term career in print manufacturing.

You’ll learn setup, operation and maintenance of bindery machines, work with a team to hit daily goals, inspect output for quality, and follow safety procedures in a noisy factory environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Ability to read basic job instructions and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up, run and maintain small bindery equipment including sewers, drills, shrink wrap, board cutter, box maker and mechanical binding.
• Keep machines running smoothly by making adjustments and monitoring quality.
• Work as part of a team to hit daily production goals.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and keep production moving.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

No bindery experience? No problem—we’ll train you.

We’re looking for people who:

• Are at least 18 years of age.
• Have a High School Diploma, or GED.
• Are mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools.
• Can read basic job instructions and measurements (decimals, sizes, etc.)
• Take pride in doing quality work
• Show up reliably and work well with a team.

It’s a plus if you have:

• Print, bindery, or finishing experience
• Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment

Physical & Work Environment

Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals.

• Safety toe shoes and hearing protection required.
• On your feet for most of the shift
• Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50lbs.
