Huntington Learning Center in Chester County, SC is seeking an experienced English Instructor to provide small-group instruction at a local high school. The role focuses on strengthening reading, writing, and language skills within a 4:1 or 5:1 student-to-instructor setting, aligned with the school curriculum, calendars, and objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Prior experience teaching English preferred
• Strong knowledge of high school English curriculum and instructional strategies.
• Ability to explain concepts clearly and engage high school students.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• A passion for helping students improve their academic skills and confidence.
• Must be reliable and able to work 8am-3:30pm, 5 days a week, 4-6 hours per day (follows Chester County School calendar)

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in reading comprehension, literary analysis, writing, grammar, and other English 2 course content to small groups of high school students in a 4:1 or 5:1 setting
• Help students develop critical thinking, written communication, and analytical skills.
• Follow the school's curriculum, syllabus, instructional objectives, and school calendar.
• Explain concepts clearly and provide guided practice to reinforce student understanding.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to address learning needs.
• Maintain a positive, structured learning environment.
• Collaborate professionally with school staff to support student achievement.
