Position: SMALL EQUIPMENT REPAIR TECHNICIAN (OPEN)

Salary: The prevailing hourly wage is $18.36 - $24.96.

Examination Information: A written exam, either computerized or traditional, will assess the duties and qualifications of the role. The exam accounts for 100% of the final grade.

Examples of Duties:

• Under supervision, impacts, repairs, adjusts, and services power, gang, and hand mowers, and other small equipment with 2 or 4-cycle engines.
• Performs repairs including dismantling, replacing parts, lubricating, and sharpening.
• Rebuilds small gasoline engines.
• Conducts preventative maintenance such as adjusting, lubricating, and inspecting equipment.
• Drives to work sites for pick-up and repair of equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least three years of full-time paid experience in repairing and maintaining small equipment with 2- or 4-cycle engines.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
• Owns necessary tools and can work any shift, including overtime.

Additional Information:

• Residency credit of 10 points for Cleveland residents with at least one year of primary residence in Cleveland at the time of application.
• Veterans’ preference: Additional points for eligible veterans with proof of active service or DD Form 214.
