Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend mechanical manuals and guidelines; apply shop mathematics and manual dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination.

Duties

• Maintains and repairs small complex to less complicated motorized equipment such as generators, pool pumps, tractors, weed-eaters, edgers, grass cutters, blowers, trimmers, walking and riding mowers.
• Analyzes and determines cause of equipment malfunctions; receives work orders and select appropriate tools materials.
• Test repairs to assure conformity to procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Must posses valid driver's license at time of employment.
• Six (6) years of experience in small engine repair work or automotive repair work.
• Ability to use independent judgment in planning sequence of operations in selecting proper tools and materials, ability to comprehend mechanical manuals and guideline.
• Requires ability to apply shop mathematics to practical problems and manual hand finger dexterity; and eye hand foot coordination.

Physical Requirements

• Tasks involve sedentary to light work, involving some reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling of objects and material.
• May involve moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (12-50 pounds).
• May require perception and discrimination of color, sound, odor as well as visual and the ability for effective communication.

Work Environment

• Tasks may require exposure to extreme temperatures, strong odors, toxic/poisonous agents, smoke, dust, pollen, water, humidity, bright/dim lights, noise extreme,and machinery.
