Northern Tool + Equipment is seeking a Mechanic to service and repair products brought to the store. The role emphasizes sourcing and ordering parts, diagnosing engines, and maintaining knowledge of our national and private label brands while delivering strong customer service.

The position requires 1+ years of small engine repair experience, clear customer communication, strict safety practices, and a collaborative attitude. It is a full-time role in Colfax, NC with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience repairing and maintaining small engines.
• Ability to explain diagnosis and repair to customers.
• Adherence to safety and security procedures.
• Strong teamwork and professional attitude.
• Ability to work with integrity and uphold company values.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of small engine theory (2- and 4-stroke) lubrication, cooling, ignition, and fuel systems.
• Certifications in major manufacture brands (Honda, Kohler, Briggs & Stratton); Master certification a plus.
• Experience with electrical systems, pumps/unloader systems, hydraulic theory and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Source and order parts for customers.
• Diagnose and repair small engines/equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of Northern Tool + Equipment's brands (national and private label).
• Complete reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
