Ysleta Independent School District is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and emergency maintenance of district-wide grounds equipment, gas-powered tools, and small engines. You will read schematics, troubleshoot engines, repair hydraulics, and maintain vehicles, parts, and records.
Responsibilities include evaluating repair vs replacement, preparing materials lists, supervising tasks as needed, and complying with district policies and safety requirements.
Performs preventive and emergency maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing district-wide maintenance and gas-powered equipment, including small engines and hydraulic systems. Maintains assigned vehicles, equipment, tools, materials, records, and work areas; evaluates repair and replacement needs, assists with specifications and purchasing processes.Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as district policies, procedures, and regulations.
High school diploma or GED; must have related technical training and three (3) years verifiable experience installing, repairing, troubleshooting and maintain a wide variety of grounds equipment and other small engine equipment, technical training related to the position preferred. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must be able to life, carry, push and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds frequently; work under all weather conditions, be adaptable to work a shift schedule and/or hours other than regularly assigned; extended periods of walking, standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting. Must possess a valid Texas or New Mexico driver license; be insurable by the districts auto liability insurance carrier; subject to the YISD drug and alcohol policy and regulation.
