Responsibilities

  • Follow and promote safe work practices at all times.
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment for customers as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and help repair small engines and mechanical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as lawn mowers, chainsaws, skid steers, tractors, and similar machinery.
  • Support senior mechanics with diagnostics, inspections, and part replacements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work area.
  • Document work performed and communicate repair needs clearly.

Job description

QuickPro Staffing is seeking a motivated Apprentice Mechanic to join a growing service team. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys mechanical work, problem-solving, and learning directly from experienced technicians in a fast-paced shop environment.

In this role, you’ll work closely with senior mechanics and shop leadership to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of small engines and equipment while building valuable technical skills. This position is ideal for someone eager to grow their mechanical career and take pride in quality workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow and promote safe work practices at all times
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment for customers as needed
  • Troubleshoot and help repair small engines and mechanical systems
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as lawn mowers, chainsaws, skid steers, tractors, and similar machinery
  • Support senior mechanics with diagnostics, inspections, and part replacements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work area
  • Accurately document work performed and communicate repair needs clearlyLearn and follow shop procedures, safety standards, and best practices
  • Complete required documentation to support high-quality customer service
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications & Skills
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic understanding of small engine repair fundamentals
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic shop equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer-service focused with a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to remain patient and provide constructive feedback when needed
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
  • Lawn mower or small engine repair
  • Chainsaw repair
  • Skid steer or tractor maintenance
  • Hydraulic systems knowledge
  • Welding experience
Working Conditions
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors
  • Frequent driving and movement, including entering/exiting vehicles and equipment
  • Climbing, lifting, and physical activity required
  • Work areas may not be climate-controlled
  • Possible exposure to fuels, oils, solvents, and other shop-related chemicals
