Job summary

Delta Innovative Services, headquartered in Kansas City area, is seeking a reliable Small Engine Mechanic to diagnose, maintain, and repair outdoor power equipment and small engines. You will provide high-quality repairs and clear customer communication to keep client equipment running smoothly.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing repairs, routine maintenance, and ensuring a safe, organized shop. A minimum of 1 year of experience and personal hand tools are expected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience repairing small engines or outdoor power equipment.
  • Deep understanding of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines, electrical systems, and carburetors.
  • Possession of a personal set of standard mechanical hand tools; shop provides specialty diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in a shop environment.
  • EETC certification or brand-specific training is a major plus but not required.

  • Customer Support: Explain necessary repairs to customers, provide accurate time and cost estimates, and answer technical questions.
  • Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace; track parts inventory and log repair orders.

Job description

Delta Innovative Services is seeking a skilled and reliable Small Engine Mechanic to join our mechanics. In this role, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide variety of outdoor roofing related power equipment and small engines. Your primary goal is to provide high-quality repairs and excellent customer service to keep our clients' equipment running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose Issues: Inspect and test malfunctioning equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, or fuel system problems.
  • Perform Repairs: Disassemble engines, repair or replace worn parts (pistons, carburetors, valves, starters), and reassemble units.
  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct tune-ups, oil changes, blade sharpening, filter replacements, and system cleaning.
  • Customer Support: Explain necessary repairs to customers, provide accurate time and cost estimates, and answer technical questions.
  • Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. Track parts inventory and log completed repair orders.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience repairing small engines or outdoor power equipment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines, electrical systems, and carburetors.
