Job summary

Jake’s Tree Service in Chester, PA seeks a full-time Small Engine / 2-Cycle Mechanic to service and repair Stihl chainsaws and Exmark lawn equipment. You will diagnose and fix 2-cycle engines, perform preventative maintenance, read diagrams and manuals, and work efficiently on multiple repairs with your own basic tools.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required, with the ability to lift equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on professional experience servicing and repairing Stihl chainsaws and Exmark lawn equipment.
• Strong knowledge of 2-cycle engines, including diagnosis, repair, rebuilding, and routine maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing small engines, fuel systems, carburetors, ignition systems, clutches, chains, and other related components.

Small Engine / 2-Cycle Mechanic:

Required Qualifications

• Must have hands-on professional experience servicing and repairing Stihl chainsaws.
• Must have hands-on professional experience servicing and repairing Exmark lawn equipment.
• Strong knowledge of 2-cycle engines, including diagnosis, repair, rebuilding, and routine maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing small engines, fuel systems, carburetors, ignition systems, clutches, chains, and other related components.
• Ability to accurately diagnose mechanical problems and determine the appropriate repair.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and keeping equipment in safe, reliable operating condition.
• Ability to service and repair commercial-grade outdoor power equipment.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, parts diagrams, and service information.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently while managing multiple repairs.
• Must have your own basic mechanic hand tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift and handle equipment and parts as required.

IMPORTANT: Specialized Experience Required

This position requires previous professional experience working specifically with Stihl chainsaws AND Exmark lawn equipment. Candidates without hands-on experience with both Stihl and Exmark equipment will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Small engine mechanic certification or formal technical training.
• Experience working in a landscaping, tree care, lawn care, or outdoor power equipment environment.
• Experience with additional brands of chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, mowers, and other outdoor power equipment.
