Job summary

TAK Broadband, LLC. is seeking a Small Cell RF Technician to join our team in Fairfield, CA. You will install, test, maintain and repair low-powered cellular radio access nodes to expand 5G and LTE capacity, working outdoors at heights and handling fiber and coax backhaul installations.

Responsibilities include mounting equipment on poles, performing RF tests, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Prior telecom installation experience and valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years in telecom or electrical installation.
  • Ability to read blueprints, RFDS, BOM, and wiring schematics.
  • Outdoor work at heights; able to lift 50–70 pounds.
  • OSHA 10 and RF safety certifications preferred.
  • Driver's license required if driving.

Responsibilities

  • Mount small cell radios, antennas, shrouds, and node enclosures onto poles or structures.
  • Pull, dress, and terminate coaxial, copper power, and fiber backhaul cables to specs.
  • Conduct line sweeps, PIM testing, and OTDR fiber testing to validate signal strength.
  • Diagnose and resolve RF performance, synchronization, and power issues.
  • Capture and upload closeout photos, log data, and submit redlined drawings.
  • Set up/take down traffic control per local regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a Small Cell RF Technician to join our team in Fairfield, CA. In this role you will be responsible for installing, testing, maintaining and repairing low-powered cellular radio access nodes to expand 5G and LTE network capacity.

The Role
  • Mount small cell radios, antennas, shrouds, and node enclosures onto metal, wood, or composite utility poles and building structures
  • Pull, dress, and terminate coaxial, copper power, and fiber optic backhaul cables to client specifications
  • Conduct line sweeps, Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing, and Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) fiber testing to validate signal strength
  • Diagnose and resolve RF performance, synchronization, connectivity, and power disruption issues
  • Capture and upload high-quality closeout photos, log technical test data, and submit redlined construction drawings
  • Set up and tear down temporary traffic and pedestrian safety cones, signs, and lane closures in accordance with local regulations
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1–2 years in telecom or electrical installation
  • Background in telecommunications, fiber optics, electrical work, or line utility construction
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, RF Data Sheets (RFDS), Bill of Materials (BOM), and wiring schematics
  • Ability to interpret schematics, line diagrams, and construction prints
  • Comfortable working outdoors at heights (using bucket trucks or ladders) and lifting up to 50–70 pounds
  • Able to feed power conduit and fiber optic cables into enclosures
  • Able to securely install sub-boxes, poles, or racks
  • Able to erect wood, metal, or plastic forms to retain wet concrete
  • Able to set stringlines and verify elevations using lasers and transits
  • OSHA 10, RF Safety, and First Aid/CPR certifications are highly preferred
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
