Job summary

TAK Broadband, LLC in Fairfield, CA, is seeking an Aerial Lineman to work on fiber optic and coaxial placement, supporting aerial plant, pole transfers, delash/relash, and relocations. Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in aerial fiber optic installation or telecom construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and NESC guidelines.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and work evenings/weekends as needed.
  • Valid government-issued photo ID; Class A CDL a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Complete installation of products and services, including aerial fiber and coaxial cable.
  • May supervise crew(s) in daily work and coordinate tasks.
  • Set up safety perimeter and ensure DOT compliance where required.
  • Travel to client sites and support various project locations, indoors and outdoors.
  • Repair, relocate, and install poles, lines, open wires, and drops as needed.
  • Troubleshoot issues and ensure high-quality customer experience.

We are seeking an Aerial Lineman with a strong background in telecommunications construction, specializing in fiber optic and coaxial cable placement to join our team in Fairfield, CA. This position supports new build and existing aerial plant, including pole transfers, delash/relash, wreck-out, and relocation projects. Candidates must be safety-focused, self-motivated, and knowledgeable in NESC telecommunications standards. Employees will report daily to the Aurora office, with travel required as needed to support projects outside the local area.

The Role
  • Complete installation of products and services
  • May be asked to manage crew(s) in daily work
  • Install and/or repair aerial cable tv (CTV) coaxial and fiber cable
  • Place, relocate and remove poles, lines, open wires, drops and block wires to maintain efficient operation of the customer’s facilities
  • Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers
  • Prioritize, organize and efficiently complete tasks to meet deadlines
  • Resolve and troubleshoot issues
  • Work in a variety of environments; indoors, outdoors, tight spaces, elevated
  • Travel to various client sites, sometimes overnight stays as needed
  • Navigate a variety of terrains managing tools and equipment
  • Direct traffic in accordance with local Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines as necessary
  • Strive to provide the best customer experience every day
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience working in and troubleshooting aerial fiber optic installation and/or telecommunications construction required
  • Coax hardline experience a plus
  • Previous experience leading/managing others a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements
  • Familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines
  • Experience and ability to splice 875, 750, 625, 500 coaxial and set up node and amps for activation
  • Open to a variety of schedules; evenings and/or weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel daily; up to 50% travel requiring overnight stays as needed
  • Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to learn and operate testing equipment and software/programs
  • Ability to utilize hand tools, identify wire size/color and accurately utilize measuring devices
  • Ability to carry, climb, operate, and work upon an extension ladder (approximately 28 feet high and 75 pounds)
  • Ability to complete tasks with small components and wires
  • Ability to complete work indoors, outdoors, in tight spaces and elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time
  • Ability to use gaffs to climb poles
  • Ability to build hardline on poles and use a lasher
  • Ability to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and tools
  • A body weight of no more than 275 pounds to perform ladder work safely. Safety is our #1 Priority. If personal safety is not compromised, an accommodation may be available based on previous ladder experience in a similar role
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving; Class A CDL a plus
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
