Job summary

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening; background and MVR checks may apply

Responsibilities

  • Produce electric distribution design drawings and Bills of Material (BOM) for simple construction projects
  • Perform field data collection using standard tools and conduct project-specific inspections accurately and efficiently
  • Learn and apply technical analysis cable pulling/voltage drop calculations, transformer loading, and pole loading analysis
  • Generate permitting and supporting project documentation
  • Gain familiarity with client construction standards, workflows, and customer charging guidelines
  • Identify, mitigate, and report hazards in both office and field environments; actively look out for otherss safety
  • Attend safety meetings and adhere to driving and site hazard training requirements
  • Support storm response as a Driver and Assessor Learner on local or travel teams

Job description

Small Cell / Power Distribution Designer

This role includes significant field work with exposure to outdoor conditions — extreme heat/cold, rain, snow, insects, and vegetation. A valid driver's license is required.

We’re looking for a motivated Power Distribution Designer to produce electrical distribution designs for overhead and underground circuits including joint use, lighting, and commercial, industrial, and residential development. You’ll gain foundational experience in electrical distribution system design — working under close mentorship, collecting field data, performing technical calculations, and building the skills to grow in this discipline. Storm restoration support may be required at an appropriate level for your experience.
