Job summary

Westfield Insurance in the United States is seeking a Small Business Trainee who, under direct supervision, will gain knowledge, experience, and business acumen in the assigned area. The program focuses on educational and relationship-building experiences and encourages feedback to close knowledge gaps.

This hybrid role requires active participation in all assignments, shadowing professionals, attending meetings, and developing core insurance operations and data skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or commensurate experience).
• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, or Business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acquire knowledge, experience, and business acumen in the assigned area.
• Support leader, team, or business unit with work assigned to them.
• This often includes, but is not limited to, project work and coverage of day-to-day activities.
• Develop business acumen through interactions and shadowing with other professionals.
• Attend business unit meetings, conducts research, and creates and delivers presentations as assigned.
• Prepares for and engages in one-on-one, online, and on-the-job learning/educational assignments/ experiences.
• Develops operating knowledge of Company standardized hardware, software programs, third-party software, and processing procedures.
• Develops an understanding of key concepts and proper business skill application through learning programs and active participation.
• Solicits feedback from leader, peer coaches and others in the organization and incorporates feedback into development.
• Identifies resources and external networking opportunities to monitor industry activity and trends.
• Maintains awareness of internal policies and procedures, laws, and regulations for this position.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and/or commensurate experience.
