Job summary

Mt. Hood Community College seeks a skilled SBDC advisor to provide specialized training on bookkeeping, financial management, and QuickBooks to local entrepreneurs and SBDC clients. You will design group sessions, offer one-on-one counseling, and follow-up to achieve SBA and OSBDCN goals.

The role emphasizes practical guidance, workshops, and reporting outcomes to measure impact on startups, jobs created, and economic growth within the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
• Two or more years of experience with QuickBooks and bookkeeping
• Three or more years of experience in small business ownership/management or direct services to the small business community
• Must complete annual ethics trainings offered by the SBA OSBDCN
• Experience working with the diverse needs of the college community, students, and employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, counseling, training, and referrals to entrepreneurs on bookkeeping, accounting systems, financial projections, business planning, and financial management.
• Design, facilitate, and lead workshops on QuickBooks and small business finance topics; create seminars and training programs.
• Ensure timely reporting of counseling sessions with notes, time, success stories, and economic impact in the client management system.
• Advocate and liaison between clients and governmental or financial institutions as needed.
• Attend staff meetings, community partner meetings, trainings, and conferences.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
