The Vet Service in Brookline, MA seeks an experienced Small Animal Medical Director to lead a busy practice. You will mentor doctors, oversee medical protocols and regulatory standards, and stay hands-on with patient care while shaping service availability and performance.

Responsibilities include scheduling, recruitment support, controlled-substance oversight, and collaboration with nursing and operations leadership to maintain exceptional patient and client care and a positive clinical

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary qualification with active Massachusetts licensure or eligibility.
• DEA registration appropriate to the position.
• Five or more years of veterinary experience.
• Previous experience managing, mentoring or developing veterinarians.

Responsabilités

• Mentoring veterinarians through regular coaching, feedback and professional development discussions.
• Overseeing medical protocols, controlled substances and regulatory standards across daily clinical activity.
• Managing consultations and treatment plans while remaining actively involved in patient care.
• Coordinating doctor coverage and helping ensure surgical and clinical capacity meets client demand.
• Reviewing clinical and financial performance alongside operational leadership to identify opportunities for improvement.
