Job summary

South Mill Champs Mushrooms is seeking a Safety Coordinator for our Kennett Square facilities to support day-to-day safety activities, enforce OSHA guidelines, and reduce job-related risks across composting and farming operations.

The ideal candidate will lead new hire safety orientations, inspect work sites, coordinate trainings in English and Spanish, maintain incident records, and help develop safe work procedures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in food production or agricultural safety.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong communication.
• Driver's license required.
• Occupational Health & Safety certificate or higher preferred.
• First Aid certification highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Train loaders and forklift operators.
• Facilitate new hire safety orientations.
• Coordinate and deliver HazCom/GHS and OSHA trainings.

We are seeking a Safety Coordinator for our composting and mushroom farming facilities located in Kennett Square, PA . The successful candidate will assist the Safety Department in conducting the day-to-day safety activities, minimizing the risk of job-related accidents.

Role And Responsibilities

• Full-time Loader / Forklift / Pallet Jack operator trainer
• Full-time new hire Safety Orientation facilitator
• Chemical management organizer and Haz Com / GHS coordinator
• LOTO / Confined Space / Haz Com safety trainer
• Safety inspector and STOP Observation facilitator
• Coordinate and perform all EHS required trainings within the company
• Develop and enforce OSHA guidelines, policies, and requirements
• Ensure monthly departmental safety training is completed
• Directing accident investigation procedures
• Intervene in unsafe activities or operations
• Maintain records of safety related incidents and propose corrective actions
• Supporting and facilitating the development of safe work procedures and standard operating procedures
• Conducting regular site safety inspections, creating + communicating action plans to applicable stake holders / applicable operational personnel
• Coordinating and facilitating regular safety meetings
• Supporting in achieving and maintaining
• Safety meeting translator and interpreter.

Requirements

• Driver's License required;
• Bilingual - ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in English and Spanish is required.
• 3+ years of experience required, preferably in a food production or agricultural environment
• Good listening and communication skills needed.
• Willingness to assist employees with safety issues and/or concerns.
• Computer skills needed (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
• Verbal and written communication skills required.
• Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety
• Occupational First Aid certification
