Behavioral Health Manager– Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Behavioral Health Manager provides direct supervision and support to behavioral health staff while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centered care. This role focuses on staff development, clinical oversight, and day-to-day operations to ensure services are effective, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.Key ResponsibilitiesStaff Supervision & SupportSupervise and support behavioral health staff, including therapists, counselors, and case managersConduct regular individual and group supervision sessionsProvide coaching, performance feedback, and annual evaluationsAssist with onboarding and training of new employeesPromote a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environmentClinical OversightReview client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes for quality and complianceProvide guidance on complex cases and clinical decision-makingEnsure use of evidence-based practices in service deliverySupport staff in crisis intervention and risk assessmentProgram OperationsOversee daily workflow and staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverageMonitor caseloads and productivity standardsSupport implementation of program policies and proceduresAssist in program development and service improvementsCompliance & Quality AssuranceEnsure adherence to all regulatory, ethical, and organizational standardsParticipate in audits, chart reviews, and quality improvement activitiesAddress and resolve compliance issues promptlyCollaboration & CommunicationAct as a liaison between staff and leadershipCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical providers and community partnersCommunicate program updates, expectations, and organizational changes to staffAdministrative ResponsibilitiesAssist with reporting, documentation, and data trackingSupport hiring processes, including interviewing and candidate selectionContribute to budget awareness and resource managementQualificationsEducation & LicensureMaster’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related fieldActive licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent), as required by state regulationsExperience2–4+ years of clinical experience in behavioral healthPrior supervisory or leadership experience preferredSkills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and interpersonal skillsSolid understanding of clinical practices and behavioral health systemsExcellent organizational and time management abilitiesEffective problem-solving and conflict resolution skillsAbility to support and develop staff performanceWork EnvironmentOutpatient clinic, community-based program, hospital, or similar settingMay include occasional evenings or on-call responsibilitiesPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting, documentation, and computer useAbility to respond to urgent or crisis situations as needed#CALI1 #cali1
