Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) program.
• Current California SLPA license or registration, as required.
• Knowledge of speech and language development and common communication disorders.
• Ability to implement treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized speech and language therapy plans under supervision of a licensed SLP.
• Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students individually and in small groups.
• Help students develop speech, language, social communication, and functional communication skills.
• Assist with AAC systems and communication strategies.
• Document student progress and maintain therapy records.
• Prepare therapy materials and organize treatment activities.
• Collaborate with SLPs, teachers, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Reinforce communication goals throughout the school environment.
• Participate in team meetings and IEP discussions as appropriate.
