Job summary

Vaughn Next Century Learning Center in Pacoima, CA, seeks a dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support students with communication needs under a supervising SLP. You will implement IEP-based goals, assist with assessments, and help prepare therapy materials in a collaborative, urban K-12 setting.

The SLPA role requires CA registration eligibility, at least 70 hours of fieldwork, and strong communication skills to engage students and families effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field required.
• Minimum of 70 hours of fieldwork or clinical experience under a licensed SLP.
• Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in CA.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse, urban K-12 students and families.
• Organizational skills with attention to accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students.
• Follow treatment plans developed by supervising SLP.
• Prepare therapy materials and organize instructional spaces.
• Develop and implement IEP communication goals within classroom curriculum.
• Record and report student progress toward goals.
• Assist with screenings, assessments, and clerical duties for supervising SLP.
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation per regulations.
• Support teachers and staff in communication strategies.
• Participate in IEP meetings and family communications.
