The Joshua School is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support targeted therapeutic interventions in a school setting in Centennial, CO. You will work under the supervision of an SLP to promote literacy, social engagement, and independence for students through evidence-based practices.
You will collaborate with teachers, OTs, SLPs, and BCBA specialists to implement goals, collect data, and help prepare materials.
Pay: $57,500.00 - $69,800.00 per year

The Speech Language Assistant (SLPA) is responsible for providing targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student literacy and social engagement within the school environment. In collaboration with the supervision SLP, the SLPA provides student‑specific recommendations that promote independence in accessing the learning environment (e.g., reading activities, group activities, community and vocational skills).

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, Google Suite software and knowledge of data collection platform software.

This role operates in a classroom environment. This role routinely uses iPads, laptops, copy machines, walkie talkies. This job also requires driving staff and students into the community, interacting with community and vocational partners. This job involves activities with students and staff, including skiing, swimming, exercise routines, attending camp, and other active community outings. Extended or non-traditional work hours may sometimes be required. 20% local travel may be expected in this role. Noise level is low to loud. Staff should anticipate an environment that includes students in crisis (aggression, contact with bodily fluids, property destruction, screaming, self-injurious behavior).

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and use hands to manipulate large and small objects. The employee must be able to speak and hear (including whispers in loud environments). The employee must pass certification for verbal and physical crisis intervention training (Safety CAre). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
