Job summary

Red Bank Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Red Bank, NJ is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for residents with swallowing or communication impairments. You will document care and participate in interdisciplinary meetings to support patient outcomes.

The role includes implementing prevention policies, contributing to discharge planning, and maintaining accurate reports while delivering patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• A current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice.
• Certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or equivalent.
• Equivalent educational requirements and eligibility to take the ASHA exam, or currently accumulating required supervised work.
• Solid computer skills; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' functional needs as referred by the physician or team.
• Follow physician orders and facility policies to evaluate and treat residents; complete documentation.
• Assist the DON in communication and swallowing decline prevention policies.
• Participate in discharge planning when appropriate.
• Perform diagnostic tests and document evaluations per policy.
• Provide treatment to maximize communication and swallowing function within abilities.
• Recommend treatments and assistive devices to prevent decline.
• Educate residents and caregivers to maintain communication/swallowing function.
• Maintain timely resident reports for regulators and payers.
• Perform duties effectively and professionally.

Education

Current license as Speech Language Pathologist in state of practice

ASHA CCC-SLP or equivalent

Equivalency of educational requirements and eligibility to take the CCC exam

EMR experience a plus
