Job summary

Adoration Health in Beckley, WV is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our Home Health team on a PRN basis. You will assess and treat patients with speech and language disorders in a home setting, delivering compassionate, patient-centered therapy.

Responsibilities include evaluating communication needs, teaching sounds and alternative methods, guiding caregivers, documenting progress, and coordinating with the healthcare team to support ongoing therapy outside sessions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Active, unrestricted SLP license in the practicing state.
• BLS/CPR certification compliant with state requirements.
• Minimum 1 year of SLP experience in a clinical or home health setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients to determine need for continued therapy services.
• Teach sounds and improve voice quality for speech improvement.
• Teach alternative communication methods (e.g., sign language).
• Guide healthcare team and caregivers in therapeutic exercises.
• Document progress and submit visit notes per policy.

Responsibilities

As a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist, You will:

• Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services
• Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability
• Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions
• Document appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient\'s response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policy

Qualifications

• Minimum of Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from a college or university with accredited Speech Language Pathology program
• A minimum of one (1) year's work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Current, unrestricted license as an Speech Language Pathologist by state in which practicing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance state regulations
