Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is hiring a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in San Jose, CA. The role entails evaluating and treating students with speech, language, cognitive, and memory needs within a collaborative Special Education team.

A Master’s in Speech Pathology and CA SLP credential (or in progress) are required, with a preference for a CA Education Specialist credential. Responsibilities include developing individualized therapy plans, data-driven progress tracking, and timely

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech pathology or related field required.
• Licensed or in process to obtain SLP credential (CA).
• CA education specialist credential preferred.
• Experience with speech therapy for children in special education or behavioral health settings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate students’ communication needs and design individualized, evidence-based therapy programs.
• Monitor progress with data-driven updates aligned to goals.
• Deliver therapy to strengthen speech, language, cognitive, and memory skills in naturalistic settings.
• Prepare timely progress reports and adapt services for outcomes.
• Maintain accurate case notes and billing documentation within 24 hours.
• Communicate with families to coordinate schedules and make-up sessions.
• Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members for integrated care.
• Provide supervision in home and community settings and mentor staff.
• Assist with intake processes and ongoing treatment plan evaluations.
• Contribute to staff trainings and dissemination of best practices.
• Engage with clients, families, and partners to support goal achievement.
