Job summary

Sysco Northeast Rdc is seeking an Operations professional to manage all slotting processes, balancing warehouse space, merchandising, and the pick path to support efficient delivery.

The role requires experience in warehouse operations, data analysis, and strong reporting skills. You will continuously update the inventory system, optimize racking plans, and ensure safety and equipment standards are met in a high-volume distribution center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years' experience in the Warehouse/Distribution Services field preferred.
• 18+ years of age and pass employment testing.
• Understanding of data analysis preferred and ability to interpret operational data.
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining operational reports; knowledge of warehouse selection, loading, & forklift operations.

Responsibilities

• Determine warehouse placement of all incoming merchandise and ensure that merchandise is slotted before receipt.
• Decide placement of new item merchandising and report slot changes to staff for efficient storage.
• Prepare a slot change memo identifying rearrangement of products.
• Move product as needed to make room for new products and track movement.
• Enter slot changes into the inventory tracking system to identify locations.
• Rearrange merchandise to maximize space and reduce waste.
• Identify like items slotted to prevent confusion and mispicks; separate items as needed.
• Check slots of discontinued items to determine if the product is gone.
• Approve deletion of item codes when products are removed to prevent waste.
• Update slot changes to keep product locations accurate in systems.
• Plan drafts for warehouse racking expansion to maximize space utilization.
• Establish additional racking component needs.
• Conform to equipment operation rules (tugs, forklifts, pallet jacks) to reduce accidents.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and clean; report repair needs to reduce damage.
• Observe safety rules and sanitation policies to reduce accidents and injuries.
• Use horns when moving in warehouse to improve visibility and safety.
• Plug batteries into power outlets when not in use to ensure equipment readiness.
