Kloeckner in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a Slitting Line Assistant to support the Operator and help ensure peak productivity, quality, and yield on the slitting line. You may sub in during training, absenteeism, or vacations to keep production moving.

You will handle material, follow instructions, log downtime in Steel II, verify setups, perform quick quality checks with a measuring tape, and participate in on-the-job training to become a proficient Operator.

Formación

• Must follow instructions and communicate effectively
• Ability to read and understand written instructions
• Basic math skills for measurement and calculations
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1–2 years of experience in a production process, preferably in metals
• Knowledge of reading measuring devices
• Basic computer skills for system interactions and data entry
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Demonstrated reliable work history
• Attention to detail with focus on precision and quality

Responsabilidades

• Substitute for the Operator during training periods, absenteeism, or vacations

The Slitting Line Assistant is responsible for supporting the Operator to ensure optimal productivity, quality, and yield on the slitting line. This role includes substituting for the Operator when needed, such as during training periods, absenteeism, or vacations.

Job Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Collect and move material to and from the machine efficiently
• Instruction Adherence: Follow production instructions provided by the paired Operator
• System Logging: Log into Steel II and accurately enter downtime codes as required
• Setup Verification: Assist in verifying machine setups throughout the production process
• Quality Checks: Periodically measure dimensions with a measuring tape to ensure accuracy
• Skill Development: Engage in continuous training to become a proficient Operator, adhering to established procedures.
• Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Instruction Following: Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
• Comprehension: Ability to read and understand written instructions
• Math Skills: Basic mathematical skills for measurement and calculations
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a production process, preferably in the metals industry

• Physical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility
• Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history
