Job summary

Klöckner & Co SE is seeking a Slitting Line Assistant to support the Operator and ensure optimal productivity, quality, and yield on the slitting line. This role may substitute for the Operator during training periods, absences, or vacations.

The position focuses on material handling, following instructions, accurate downtime logging in Steel II, and assisting with machine setup verification. Candidate requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years in a production setting

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Basic mathematical skills for measurement and calculations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in a production process, preferably in the metals industry.
• Knowledge of reading measuring devices.
• Basic computer knowledge for system interactions and data entry.
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Demonstrated reliable work history.
• Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Material Handling: Collect and move material to and from the machine efficiently.
• Instruction Adherence: Follow production instructions provided by the paired Operator.
• System Logging: Log into Steel II and accurately enter downtime codes as required.
• Setup Verification: Assist in verifying machine setups throughout the production process.
• Quality Checks: Periodically measure dimensions with a measuring tape to ensure accuracy.
• Skill Development: Engage in continuous training to become a proficient Operator, adhering to established procedures.
• Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
