Job summary

Monarch Steel Company, Inc., a division of American Consolidated Industries, is seeking a Set Up Operator to join our Cleveland, OH team. Under general supervision, you will perform semi-skilled tasks in maintenance and production, while upholding safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will learn the slitter set-up program, generate build sheets from work orders, set up and repair production machines, and monitor tooling.

Qualifications

Ability to use computers, read tape measures, micrometers and calipers.
Ability to perform complete set-up and operational tasks of slitting to ensure compliance with customer specifications and production requirements.
Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs.
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to work outside normal business hours/days as needed.
Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company.
Able to read and comprehend simple work instructions, work orders, short correspondence and memos written in English.
Able to write simple correspondence in English.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits and good housekeeping procedures.
Develop knowledge of slitter set-up program.
Generate build sheets based on production work orders.
Build heads utilizing build sheet instructions.
Maintain knife and rubber inventory.
Clean slitter knives and slitter tooling.
Set-up, maintain and repair production machines, tooling and other equipment.
Perform routine checks of parts to ensure quality of product.
Constant inspection of machinery, equipment, and process to ensure safety.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
