Job summary

Monarch Steel Company, Inc. seeks a Set Up Operator to support slitting operations. You will follow safety policies, perform machine setup, generate build sheets, and maintain tooling and inventory. The role requires reading measurements and adapting to production needs in a team environment.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; industry knowledge is a plus. Bending shifts with potential overtime aligns with business needs and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read tape measures, micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to perform full setup and operation of slitting per customer specs.

Under general supervision, the Set Up Operator performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks involved involving the general maintenance and operations processes; and performs related work as required.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Develop knowledge of slitter set-up program
• Generate build sheets based on production work orders
• Build headsutilizingbuild sheet instructions
• Maintain knife and rubber inventory
• Clean slitter knives and slitter tooling
• Set-up,maintainand repair production machines,toolingand other equipment
• Perform routine checks of parts to ensure quality of product
• Constant inspection of machinery, equipment, and process to ensure safety
• Performother duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to use computers, read tape measures,micrometersand calipers
• Ability to perform complete set-up and operational tasks of slitting to ensure compliance with customer specifications and production requirements
• Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, commonfractionsand decimals
• Ability to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
• Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company
• Able to read andcomprehendsimple work instructions, work orders, shortcorrespondenceand memos written in English
• Able to write simple correspondence in English

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent,required
