We are currently looking for anexperienced Slitter Operator to join our outstanding warehouse team.

Summary of Position

The Slitter Operator is responsible for the overall productivity of the slitter line, with a goal of 95% efficiency and cross-trains the Slitter Helper at Tempered and SpecialtyMetals.

Responsibilities and Duties

At a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Slitter Operator position. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.

• Perform all duties while maintaining the highest safety standards.
• Verify correct coils are supplied for processing by performing required confirmation checks and comparing tag information to ERP system schedule.
• Process coils ensuring quality while adhering to customer-specified tolerances.
• Complete all required documentation and reports, and update specifications in ERP system as needed.
• Communicate in a timely and effective manner with all employees, supervisors, and management.
• Build set-ups by utilizing knives and other tooling at specified widths to produce steel coils to meet customer's specifications.
• Visually inspect the product during operation and monitor the steel being cut, applying knowledge of the gauge and width of each coil to adjust accordingly.
• Use precision and safety when operating tools such as tapemeasures, micrometers, calipers, nibblers, and other cutting/processing tools.
• Safely drive a Hi-lo through the plant to move coils and skids to designated areas and operate the over-head crane to move coils.
• Demonstrate good housekeeping while preserving a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Cross train the Slitter Helper.
• Perform all other duties appropriate to the position as assigned or required by the supervisor.
• Adhere to all TSM's safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
• Adhere to all TSM's handbook policies and procedures.
