TOPPAN Packaging Americas in Elk Grove Village, IL seeks a Slitter Operator I for nights on a 12-hour continental schedule. The role involves operating slitting and roll handling equipment, weighing and wrapping rolls, inspecting quality, and ensuring adherence to GMPs and safety standards.

Responsibilities include setting up core cutting, labeling, palletizing, and data entry. A high school diploma and basic measurement skills are required, with experience in manufacturing preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to read rulers and perform basic measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Basic data entry and computer skills.
• Experience with pallet wrapping, forklifts, or material handling equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate core cutting and roll wrapping equipment.
• Cut cores to required sizes and ensure proper supply for slitting jobs.
• Weigh, label, and wrap finished rolls per job specifications.
• Palletize finished rolls and move them to the finished goods area.
• Perform quality checks before and after production runs.
• Review customer specifications and ensure compliance.
• Conduct final inspections of finished rolls.
• Follow GMPs, SOPs, 5S, and DTM procedures.
• Perform data entry in Shop Floor and Quality systems.
• Communicate machine status and job details during shift changes.
• Assist with preventative maintenance as scheduled.
• Issue work orders for equipment or repair needs.
• Provide break relief coverage for Slitter Operators.
• Support other shifts or departments as needed.

Position: Slitter Operator- NightsLocation: Elk Grove Village, ILShift: C & D Shift | 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM (12-hour continental schedule)Pay Rate: $21.74 /hour + $2.00 shift differentialRetention Bonus:To reward long-term commitment, this position offers a $2,000 retention bonus, paid as follows:$1,000 after successfully completing 90 days of employment$1,000 after successfully completing 180 days of employmentPlease note: This is a retention bonus and is not paid at the time of hire.Summary DescriptionThe Slitter Operator I is responsible for operating slitting and roll handling equipment to meet customer specifications while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
