Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas in Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking a Night Shift Press Operator on a 12-hour continental schedule (3 days one week, 4 days the next). Pay is $28.98/hour with a $2.00/hour shift differential. A $2,000 retention bonus is offered after 90 and 180 days.

The role supports press operations, ensures print quality, and safely operates printing equipment per company standards. You will assist with setups, run presses, maintain equipment, and uphold safety and GMPs throughout

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
• English proficiency (read/write/speak).
• Previous press operator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Press Operators to maintain workflow and print quality.
• Operate cylinder-type printing presses according to procedures and guidelines.
• Direct Press Helpers and monitor print quality during runs.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance and sanitation checks on equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of machines and adjacent work areas.
• Follow GMPs, PRPs, and production SOPs and report safety issues.

Position: Press OperatorLocation: Elk Grove VillageShift: Night Shift | 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM | 12-hour continental shift (3 days one week, 4 days the following, off every other weekend)Pay Rate: $28.98/hour + $2.00/hour shift differentialRetention Bonus:To reward long-term commitment, this position offers a $2,000 retention bonus, paid as follows:$1,000 after successfully completing 90 days of employment$1,000 after successfully completing 180 days of employmentPlease note: This is a retention bonus and is not paid at the time of hire.Summary DescriptionThe Press Operator reports directly to the Department Manager and is responsible for supporting press operations, maintaining workflow and print quality, and safely operating printing equipment according to company procedures and standards.What You’ll Be DoingAssist Press Operators to maintain workflow and print quality on assigned press runsBring materials for press setups to press sitesClean presses during job changesPerform setup, operation, and feeding of cylinder-type printing presses to produce a variety of productsOperate printing press equipment according to company printing procedures and guidelinesDirect Press Helpers according to company printing proceduresSet up jobs with assistance and monitor print quality while the press is runningMaintain responsibility for quality and safe operating procedures during setup and productionCommunicate job status and critical details with the opposite shift operator during shift changesCheck first-piece conformance to specificationsPerform daily and periodic preventive maintenance on assigned equipmentMaintain cleanliness of machines and adjacent work areasUtilize satellite containers for hazardous waste handlingFollow equipment cleaning and sanitation procedures and complete sanitation checklistsFollow GMPs, PRPs, and production SOPsConduct and document all quality checks for intermediate productFollow CCP monitoring proceduresRefer production difficulties to group leader or supervisor for analysis and correctionReport all food safety violations to managementFollow all safety rulesParticipate in TOPPAN’s Global Performance System (GPS) activities including 5Star, pillar teams, audits, and near missesMaintain regular attendance and punctualityPerform other duties as assignedWe’d Love to Hear From You IfYou have strong mechanical aptitudeYou have excellent math skillsYou can speak, read, and write English proficientlyPrevious press operator experience is preferredYou can perform moderate to heavy physical work, including lifting up to 60 poundsYou have strong communication skillsYou can maintain continuous mental and visual attention throughout the shiftHigh school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
