Job summary

Novolex in Chicago is seeking a Slitter Operator to run and maintain UTECO slitter equipment, ensuring quality and adherence to safety standards on a night shift. The role requires setting up, loading, and inspecting rolls, as well as documenting inspections and scrap.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be eligible to work in the U.S., and pass pre-employment screening. Training and overtime may be required to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
• Ability to work a 12-hour day on night shift.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Satisfactorily complete training courses as determined by management.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
• Must be able to read a ruler.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow all JSA’s and safety procedures and policies.
• Setting up UTECO slitter to slit product to customer specifications.
• Load rolls of WIP onto machine and thread machine.
• Inspects quality of rolls before production and begins and continuously checks quality of line as it is produced.
• Properly document quality inspections.
• Check to be sure all guards are in place and working properly according to procedures.
• Removes rolls in a timely manner, inspect, label, package, and stack on skid.
• Weighs and documents all scrap.
