Job summary

Interflex Merrill is seeking an entry-level Slitting Operator to operate a slitting machine and produce finished rolls of material. This full-time evening shift role requires a high school diploma and strict adherence to safety protocols, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

You will move rolls with a forklift, prepare materials, and ensure quality and accuracy on the production line. You will also perform quality checks, complete required paperwork, and maintain a clean, organized work area while

Responsibilities

• Conveys rolls to the slitter with forklift.
• Positions rolls on machine carriage using pallet jacks.
• Removes outer layer and splices film for continuity.
• Sets machine to processing specifications.
• Starts the machine and monitors operation.
• Inspects first panels for correct alignment using tape measure.
• Completes required quality paperwork with signatures.
• Performs visual roll inspections for quality adherence.
• Wraps rolls and prepares shipping units.
• Maintains inventory/paperwork duties.
• Keeps work area and equipment neat and orderly.
• Performs routine maintenance as needed.

Job Details: Level: Entry, Job Location: Interflex Merrill - Merrill, WI 54452, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Salary Range: $18.05 - $26.68 Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Evening, Job Category: Manufacturing, The purpose of this position is to set up and operate a slitting machine to produce material, such as plastic or paper to finished rolls of specified footage, conformation, and unwind configuration. Additionally, this position requires strict adherence to all health and safety regulations as well as utilizing “common sense” precautions and actions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conveys rolls to the slitter with the use of a forklift.
• Positions rolls on machine carriage, using pallet jacks.
• Pulls outer layer of material from roll to remove any contamination and splice film together.
• Set machine to processing specifications.
• Depresses buttons to start machine.
• Inspects and measures first panels discharged from machine to verify correct alignment of material on panel, using tape measure, check copy to proof and verify the information to the spec sheet.
• Perform all quality checks and fill out all of the required paperwork with the proper signatures.
• Start the machine and do visual inspection of rolls to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
• Wrapping individual rolls in a protective film and assembling rolls into specified shipping units.
• Executing inventory control/paperwork functions.
• Maintaining work area and equipment in neat and orderly manner.
• Performs routine maintenance duties on equipment as needed.
