Job summary

Saint-Gobain in Wayne, NJ seeks a Slitter Operator for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 3:00pm-11:30pm). Training may occur on 1st shift for ~3 months. Base pay ranges from $21.00 to $23.50 per hour, with a $1 shift differential and eligible annual bonus up to 10% of hourly rate.

Overtime at 1.5x applies. Scope includes setup, control, and run of slitter equipment. Responsibilities include setting up equipment per SOPs, ensuring quality and safety, maintaining records, and collaborating with team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of Saint-Gobain products and processes is preferred.
• Able to operate independently and as part of a team.
• Basic command of English, written and verbal.
• Able to read and follow SOPs, labels and instructions.
• Demonstrated mechanical abilities, including use of measuring devices.
• Demonstrated mechanical and mathematical abilities.
• Experience in Statistical Process Control.
• Computer skills necessary to fulfill department requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run Slitting equipment according to SOPs and work orders or supervisor instructions.
• Communicate and cooperate with colleagues to maintain quality, efficiency and safety.
• Clean and maintain machinery, tools and work area.
• Maintain records as required by SOPs and work instructions (e.g., production data entry).
• Observe and report non-conformance to supervisor or manager.
• Test samples for compliance with manufacturing standards.
• Demonstrate safety awareness and safe work practices.
• Monitor product quality through 1st piece and final inspection.
• Participate in self-development and training of others.
• Perform other duties as required; follow environmental policies per ISO 14001.

Saint-Gobain located in Wayne, NJ is looking for a Slitter Operator – 2nd shift

• The 2nd Shift work schedule is Monday to Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm. Training maybe on 1st shift, 7a-3:30p for approx. 3 months
• The pay rate for this position is $21.00 an hour (0-4 years machine operator experience) to $23.50 an hour (5+years machine operator experience).
• In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an $1/hr shift differential as well as an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.
• Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include: Standard Overtime (Hourly rate * 1.5)

Scope:Setup, control, and run slitter equipment and inspect product, according to standard operating procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and run Slitting equipment according to SOPs and work orders and/or special instruction form supervisor.
• Communicate and cooperate with fellow employees to maintain quality, operational efficiency and safety.
• Clean and maintain machinery, tools, and work area as scheduled or as needed.
• Maintain necessary records as required by SOPs and work instructions (i.e. production data entry).
• Visually observe, troubleshoot, and report non-conformance condition (either product or process) to supervisor, or manager as required.
• Test samples for compliance with manufacturing standards according to SOPs.
• Exhibits safety awareness and safe work practices.
• Monitor quality of product through 1st piece and final inspection as required.
• Participate in self-development and training of others.
• Perform other related duties as required or as directed by supervisor.
  • Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.

The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position is $61,500-$70,300. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
