Job summary

Saint-Gobain located in Wayne, NJ is seeking a Slitter Operator for 2nd shift to setup, operate, and monitor slitting equipment following SOPs and work orders. You will communicate across teams to ensure quality and safe operations.

The role includes training on 1st shift temporarily, with base pay $21.00–$23.50 per hour plus a $1/hr shift differential and a bonus program up to 10% of hourly rate. Overtime is paid at 1.5x hourly rate; annual target can range $61,500–$70,300.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Visually observe, troubleshoot, and report non-conformance to supervisor or manager as required.
• Test samples for compliance with manufacturing standards according to SOPs.
• Observe safety practices and monitor product quality via inspections.
• Participate in self-development and training of others.
• Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.

• The 2nd Shift work schedule is Monday to Friday 3:00pm - 11:30pm. Training maybe on 1st shift, 7a-3:30p for approx. 3 months
• The pay rate for this position is $21.00 an hour (0-4 years machine operator experience) to $23.50 an hour (5+years machine operator experience).
• In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an $1/hr shift differential as well as an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.
• Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include: Standard Overtime (Hourly rate * 1.5)

Scope:Setup, control, and run slitter equipment and inspect product, according to standard operating procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and run Slitting equipment according to SOPs and work orders and/or special instruction form supervisor.
• Communicate and cooperate with fellow employees to maintain quality, operational efficiency and safety.
• Clean and maintain machinery, tools, and work area as scheduled or as needed.
• Maintain necessary records as required by SOPs and work instructions (i.e. production data entry).
• Visually observe, troubleshoot, and report non-conformance condition (either product or process) to supervisor, or manager as required.
• Test samples for compliance with manufacturing standards, according to SOPs.
• Exhibits safety awareness and safe work practices.
• Monitor quality of product through 1st piece and final inspection as required.
• Participate in self-development and training of others.
• Perform other related duties as required or as directed by supervisor.
  • Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.

Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
